SHIPSHEWANA - Aaron Lee Lambright, 31, of Shipshewana, died Friday, May 15.
He was born April 20, 1984, in LaGrange County, to Perry H. and Norma (Gingerich) Lambright; they survive.
Survivors in addition to his parents are three brothers, Steven (Sara) Lambright, James (Marla) Lambright and Mark (Leora) Lambright, all of Shipshewana; two sisters, Mary Ruth (Stanley) Miller and Rhoda (Vernon) Lambright, both of Shipshewana; a grandfather, Ezra J. Gingerich of Shipshewana; a grandmother, Nettie O. Lambright of LaGrange; 27 nieces and nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Ellen Gingerich, and grandfather Harvey Lambright.
Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday, May 17, and all day Monday, May 18. The funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 19. All services will be at the family's residence, 4865 W. 300 N., Shipshewana. Services will be conducted by Bishop Jacob Jones and the home ministers. Burial will be in East Barren Cemetery, Shipshewana.

GOSHEN - Mary M. Lambright, 87, of Goshen, died at 12:30 a.m. Monday, March 9, at home.
She was born Sept. 3, 1927, in Nappanee, to the late Moses J. and Mary Ann (Troyer) Burkholder.
On March 30, 1950, in Portland, she married Felty Lambright.
Surviving are her children, Sarah (David) Hochstetler of Middlebury, Ella Lambright, Rosa (Herman) Miller and Felty Jr. (Mary Esther) Lambright, all of Goshen, Ervin (Carol) Lambright, Eli (Sue) Lambright and Menno (Lou Anne) Lambright, all of Shipshewana and Elsie Shell; 35 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and brother Eli (Sarah) Burkholder.
She was preceded in death by her husband; son Lester Lambright; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings Sarah Schrock, Lily Miller, and John, Chris and Sam Burkholder.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 10, and all day Wednesday, March 11, at Freeman Yutzy's home, 13377 C.R. 36, Goshen. Funeral services will be at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, March 12, at Freeman Yutzy's home. Burial will be in Mast Cemetery.

SHIPSHEWANA - Nettie O. Lambright, 92, of Shipshewana, died Friday at Parkview LaGrange Hospital.
She was born Jan. 19, 1923, to Owen and Lizzie (Miller) Hostetler. She married Harvey J. Lambright on Oct. 31, 1946. He died Dec. 28, 2004.
Daughters Mary (Ora) Schrock of LaGrange, Elizabeth (Marvin) Bontrager of Wolcottville, Ida Mae (DeWayne) Miller of Millersburg, Wilma (Ezra) Bontrager of Shipshewana, Katie (Edwin) Schrock of LaGrange and LeAnna (Kenny) Otto of Middlebury; sons Elva (Wilma) Lambright of Topeka, Mahlon (Esther) and Perry (Norma) Lambright, both of Shipshewana, Mervin (Susie) Lambright of LaGrange, Christy (Carolyn) Lambright of Middlebury, and Harvey Jr. (Carolyn) and Harley (Marietta) Lambright, both of LaGrange; 87 grandchildren; 229 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters Orpha Miller and Alice (Harley) Fry; and brothers David, Freeman (Darla Mae) and Owen Jr. (Esther) survive.

MIDDLEBURY - Fyrne Lantz, 75, died Thursday, April 2, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born Aug. 19, 1939, in Columbiana, Ohio, to Clifford Aden and Maxine Mae (Sommers) Martin.
On Jan. 20, 1962, she married Ray Lantz in Wadsworth, Ohio. He survives.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, April 10, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church, with funeral service beginning at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Terry Diener will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Grove Cemetery, with a meal following at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Clinton Frame Mennonite Church Hospitality Ministry.

Lantz, Fyrne Lucille Martin, 75, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died April 2, 2015 at the same place. She was born August 19, 1939 at Columbiana, OH to Clifford Aden and Maxine May (Sommers) Martin. On January 20, 1962 she was married to Ray A. Lantz, who was born May 13, 1937 and survives.
Surviving are a son, David Lantz, and two grandchildren.
Fyrne was a gifted singer and sang in the Hour of Power Choir. She was a nurse and served in many capacities.

He was a member of Willow Street Mennonite Church, serving there throughout the years as Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, treasurer, trustee. While serving there and at Mennonite Home he was known to be able to "fix anything." For nearly 30 years, he and Marian volunteered to barbecue hamburgers and hot dogs at Mennonite Home so that every resident could enjoy an outdoor picnic. In tune with his "giving personality" Henry also served everyone at Mennonite Home homemade ice cream on his birthday.
He is survived by his wife, Marian, four daughters, Sara, Rachel (Loren Johns), Lois (John Jantzi), Carol (Dave Witmer), three sons, Jim (Sheryl Huebert), Ken (Judy Myers), Ron (Joyce Horst), 18 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Willow Street Mennonite Church, 399 E. Penn Grant Road, Willow Street, PA on Saturday, September 26 at 10:00A.M. Born in Goodville, he was the son of the late Clayton D. and Esther (Martin) Leaman. His wife, Dorothy (Wanner) Leaman, died Sept. 30, 2001.
Luke worked as a service manager for Sauder Chevrolet and later for Conestoga Wood Specialties.
He was a member at Weaverland Mennonite Church and he enjoyed hunting and spending time with his family.
Surviving are four children, Donna J., married to Glen Kanagy of Bellville, Carol A., married to Tim Weaver of New Holland, Sandy L., married to Clair Martin of Narvon, and Dale L., married to Lonita Leaman of New Holland; 10 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; five brothers and sisters, Evelyn Bare of New Holland, Clayton Leaman of East Earl, Dorothy, married to Horace Wanner of New Holland, Mark, married to Brenda Leaman of East Earl, and Paul Leaman of Terre Hill.
Preceding him in death is a sister, Irene Leaman; and two brothers, Elmer and Roy Leaman.

GOSHEN - Vern L. Leatherman, 72, died Thursday, Sept. 24, at IU Health Goshen Hospital.
He was born Dec. 11, 1942, in Norfolk, Va., to Clifford Wayne and Agnes (Miller) Leatherman.
On Nov. 16, 1963, he married Janet K. Nafziger. She died in 1977. He later married Jane Miller. She survives.
Also surviving are his children, Douglas S. (Mary) Leatherman of Palatine, Ill., Dawn Leatherman, Eric (Jeni) Leatherman and Justin (Holly) Leatherman, all of Goshen, and Amy (Jesse) Berkey of Lebanon, Ore.; 13 grandchildren; his stepmother, Ruth Leatherman; and a sister, Sandy (Gerald) Kauffman of Middlebury.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Janet; son Cory Lynn; a sister, Darlene Sherck; and a brother, Wayne Leatherman.
Vern was a 1961 graduate of Goshen High School. He was a member of East Goshen Mennonite Church, where he was involved in their mentoring program. He co-founded Leatherman Supply with his father in 1964 and was a lifetime member of the Home Builders Association.
He enjoyed volunteering for Church Community Service in their homebound delivery program. Foremost in Vern's life was his family: He would do anything and everything for them.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 28, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and for an hour prior to the 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 29, funeral service at East Goshen Mennonite Church. Pastor Merle Hostetler will officiate. Burial will follow in Violett Cemetery.

ELKHART - Colleen Mona Lechlitner, 82, of Elkhart, went home to be with her Lord Tuesday, Feb. 10.
She was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Pleasant Lake, to Carroll and Jeanett Penland.
On Nov. 8, 1953, she married Carl Lechlitner. He preceded her in death Nov. 2, 2005.
She is survived by two sons, Michael (Kathleen) Lechlitner of Redland, Calif., and Douglas (Leigh) Lechlitner of Elkhart; daughter Debra (Evan) Martin of Goshen; six grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica) Lechlitner of Redland, Melissa (Jacob) Martin of Nashville, Tenn., Amanda Martin of Indianapolis and Mercedes, Sierra and Dylan Lechlitner, all of Elkhart; four step-grandchildren, Michael (Emily), Andrew, Stephen and Rebekah Tefft, all of Elkhart; great-granddaughter Miriam Lechlitner of Redland, Calif.; brother Delos Penland of Hamilton; and sister-in-law Flora (Paul) Christophel of Elkhart.
Two brothers, Bazil and Calvin Penland, preceded her in death.
Colleen worked at Elkhart General Hospital as a lab technician and medical assistant early in her marriage. She later became co-owner of Lechlitner Door with her husband. Together they also owned and operated Lechlitner Angus Farm. She was on the board and active in Wakarusa Sharing Citizens and Olive (West) Cemetery. She was a member of Olive Mennonite Church where she was part of the women's group, taught Sunday school and served her church in many other ways.
Her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother and grandma. She loved and served her family in whatever way was needed. She will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 13, and the service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, all at Olive Mennonite Church, 61081 C.R. 3, Elkhart. Pastor Michael Lechlitner will officiate. Burial will be in Olive (West) Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Mennonite Disaster Service or Church Community Services.

MIDDLEBURY - Leota Catherine Miller Leer, 95, of Middlebury, died at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Tidewell Hospice in Sarasota, Fla.
She was born April 2, 1919, in Elkhart County, to he late Merril and Moda (Bontrager) Pletcher.
On Dec. 23, 1935, she married Vernon E. Miller. He died March 6, 1996.
On June 21, 1997, in Elkhart County, she married Ira Leer. He died Dec. 16, 2008.
Surviving are three daughters, Patricia Eicher of Centreville, Mich., Margaret Ann (Alton) Miller of Middlebury and Diane Sue (Elmer) Stealy of Goshen; nine grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and seven great-step-grandchildren.
A daughter, Jeanette Elaine Miller; granddaughter Deanna Eicher; great-grandson Michael Stevenot; and sisters Myrtis Mann, Velma Good and Cleo Graybill predeceased her.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at First Mennonite Church, 203 E. Lawrence, St., Middlebury. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at First Mennonite Church. Burial will be in Grace Lawn Cemetery in Middlebury.

GOSHEN - John E. Lehman, 102, of Goshen, died Monday, Jan. 12, at Greencroft Healthcare.
He was born Dec. 17, 1912, in North Lima, Ohio, to Edwin C. and Mary (Basinger) Lehman.
On June 10, 1944, he married Margaret Swope in Columbiana, Ohio.
She survives along with four children, Thomas (Mary) Lehman of South Bend, Mary Ann (Jon) Wieand of Goshen, Becky (Luke) Gascho of Goshen and David (Bonnie) Lehman of Mechanicsville, Va.; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by six sisters, Elva Yoder, Grace Hubert, Wilma Blosser, Hazel Schmucker, Flossie Yoder and Esther Miller.
John was a 1939 graduate of Goshen College, where he received a degree in education. He was a teacher and school principal for seven years in Mahoning County, Ohio.
He served in the Civilian Public Service in Pennsylvania and Nebraska from 1943 to 1946. He then accepted assignments as the director of the Mennonite Church's service program in Ethiopia from 1948 to 1950 and director of the Mennonite service program in Puerto Rico from 1952 to 1956.
He was a member of the Goshen College administration for three years. He also served as principal of Betania Mennonite School in Puerto Rico, from 1959 to 1961. On returning to the U.S. he was director of the Mennonite Voluntary Service Program for 17 years, until his retirement in 1978.
He was an active member of Prairie Street Mennonite Church in Elkhart, serving as a Sunday school teacher for children and adults, assisting with Summer Bible school and serving on many church related boards and committees.
Friends may call from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 17, in the Greencroft Meetinghouse, 1904 S. 15th St., Goshen, where a memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. with Nelson Kraybill officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart.

MARKLE - Joyce C. Leinbach, 91, of Markle and formerly of Goshen, died at 12:55 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 11, at Markle Health and Rehabilitation.
She was born March 24, 1923, in Goshen, to the late Ordo J. and Lela (Buzzard) Yoder.
She married Maurice E. Leinbach on Oct. 29, 1944, at Clinton Frame Mennonite Church. He died Oct. 12, 1996.
Surviving are her children, Dennis (Joyce) Leinbach and Nancy Leinbach, both of Uniondale; daughter-in-law Helen Leinbach of North Webster; sister Lois Dickmeyer of Fort Wayne; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her son, Alan Leinbach; brothers Herbert and Howard Yoder; and a sister, Carol Yoder.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, 311 S. Main St., Goshen, where the service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15. Her son, Pastor Dennis Leinbach, will officiate. Burial will be in Elkhart Prairie Cemetery.

GOSHEN - Laurene M. Leinbach, 98, went to be with her Lord, Monday morning, Oct. 5, in her home.
She was born Aug. 3, 1917, in Shipshewana, to Neri and Flora (Bontrager) Bontrager.
In 1938, she married Oscar L. Leinbach. He passed away Nov. 2, 1988.
Surviving are five children, Karen A. Leinbach of Colorado Springs, Colo., Lowell L. (Joyce) Leinbach of Cement City, Mich., Jean Leinbach of Goshen, Mary Jo Brandenberger of Sarasota, Fla., and Sharon K. Leinbach of Englewood, Fla.; grandchildren Craig and Brent Leinbach, Michael and Matthew Brandenberger and Mardee Cooper; 11 great-grandchildren; brother Dewayne (Judy) Bontrager of Plantation, Fla.; and sister-in-law Bev Bontrager of Elkhart.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ruby and Doris Bontrager; brothers Glendon and Galen Bontrager; and two great-grandchildren.
She was a member of Liberty (Mich.) Community Church while living in Michigan, and Pleasant View Mennonite Church while living in Goshen.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, and for an hour prior to the 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, funeral service at Pleasant View Mennonite Church, 58529 C.R. 23, Goshen. Burial will follow in Laurel Hills Cemetery in Liberty.

Lentz, James A. L., 81, of Ephrata, PA, formerly of Manheim, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on Monday morning, August 17, 2015, at Bob Fryer and Family Inpatient Center of Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy following a lengthy illness. Born Ocotober 17, 1933 at Aberdeen Mill in Conewago Twp., Dauphin Co., PA, he was the son of the late Lester S. and Elva M. Gantz Lentz. He was the husband of Betty S. Lentz for 62 years on May 23.
Jim was a member of Hernley Mennonite Church and recently attended Speedwell Heights Brethren in Christ Church in Lititz. Following graduation in 1950 from the carpentry program at the former Hershey High School, he was employed by J. C. Snavely in Landisville. Later, he was a self-employed contractor for many years before joining the Conklin Co., Inc. as a salesman for 35 years. He was recognized by Conklin as "Man of the Year."
Jim served in 1-W Service at Mount Alto Tuberculosis Sanitarium in South Mountain, PA, for two years. In addition to serving as board secretary for Teen Challenge, he was a former member of the Rotary Club of Manheim and a charter member and past president of Gideons International, Lancaster West Camp. Jim enjoyed making furniture and made a cedar chest for each of his grandchildren. He and his wife also enjoyed extensive traveling, including trips to Hawaii and retracing the mission journeys of the Apostle Paul. Jim also enjoyed engaging in conversations with others.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, John L., husband of Judy Hostetter Lentz, of Manheim, Ruth E., wife of Glen Groff, of Lititz, Timothy L., husband of Jolyn Showalter Lentz, of Wallace, WV, and Rhoda A., wife of Ronald Lehman, of Myerstown; 12 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; two siblings, Anna Jean Dorwart, and Ralph E., husband of Miriam Lentz, both of Elizabethtown; and a sister-in-law, Ruth Lentz of Lititz. He was preceded in death by three siblings, John Henry Lentz, Wilma A. Slaymaker, and Wilbur A. Lentz.
A funeral service will be held on Friday morning at 10:00 AM at Hernley Mennonite Church, 746 Lebanon Road, Manheim, PA. Interment will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive guests at the church on Thursday evening from 6-8:00 PM and on Friday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service.
Surviving are children, Kermit (Barbara) Lind; Don (Marilyn) Lind; and Ralph (Brenda) Lind; and 18 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A son, Jerry Lind preceded her in death.

GOSHEN - Millard Charles Lind, 96, of Goshen, died Saturday, April 25, in his home at Greencroft.
He was born in Bakersfield, Calif., on Oct. 10, 1918, to Norman A. and Sarah Flohr Lind.
He married Miriam Sieber Lind on April 17, 1943, in Goshen.
He is survived by his children and their spouses, Dan and Anne (Lehman) Lind of Goshen, Jonathan and Anda (Stamm) Lind of Manassas, Va., Timothy and Suzanne (Hilty) Lind of Three Rivers, Mich., Matthew and Kathy (McCabe) Lind of Goshen, James and Kate (Hodgson) Lind of Three Rivers, Sarah Lind and James Rhem of Madison, Wis., and Dirk Vardaman of Goshen; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Millard was a graduate of Goshen College in 1942 and received a Th.D. from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary in 1964. He was a member of Goshen College Mennonite Church.
Mr. Lind had a deep commitment to his family and to his church. He served the latter as a pastor, writer, editor and, notably, as a teacher. He was a professor of Old Testament at Goshen Biblical Seminary and its successor, Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminaries, from 1959 until his retirement in 1998.
Mr. Lind will be remembered by several generations of Mennonite church workers and pastors for his love of Old Testament texts, his teachings on the Pentateuch and the prophets and for his lifelong inquiry into themes of state violence and power from an Old Testament perspective. Among his published writings are a study of Old Testament warfare, "Yahweh Is a Warrior" (1980), and of capital punishment, "The Sound of Sheer Silence and the Killing State" (2004).

Lind, Millard Charles, 96, of Goshen, Elkhart Co., IN died April 25, 2015 at the same place. He was born October 10, 1918 at Bakersfield, Calif. to Norman A. and Sarah (Flohr) Lind. On April 17, 1943 at Goshen he was married to Miriam Sieber, who was born July 19, 1920 and died August 24, 2008.

Willis was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church, where he served as song leader for over 50 years, served as elder, directed many church & community choirs, was state coordinator of Mennonite Disaster Service, served as MYF leader, and sang in numerous men's quartets and choirs. He had a love and passion for music. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren's many activities.

Russ was a member of Hopedale Mennonite Church, where he served in many different capacities and on various committees. He served on the leadership team for Southern Illinois Mission Partnership (SIMP) and served as an EMT for the Hopedale & Minier communities for 19 years and served as chief for a time. He enjoyed bicycling, hiking and ballroom dancing. He was a faithful attendee of the men's Wednesday morning Bible study for many years.

He was born April 12, 1951 at Mountain Lake, MN to Melvin and Elfrieda (Regier) Loewen. Melvin was born December 9, 1925 and Elfrieda was born June 21, 1923. They both survive.
On August 23, 1975 he was married to Nancy (Liechty) Loewen, who survives.
Surviving besides his wife and parents are children, Emma (Alex) Dugger; Nick (Janna Reiff) Loewen; and Jesse Loewen; two grandchildren, and his siblings: Barbara Loewen; Margaret (Bob Yoder) Loewen; John (Wendy) Loewen; James Loewen; Lisa (Joe) Ebersole.

She was born in E. Cocalico Twp. to the late Martin and Alice (Stauffer) Bauman and was the wife of George R. Long. They would have been married 53 years on October 6th.
She was a member of the Berean Bible Church for 8 years, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, gardening flowers and going to their cabin. Pauline worked as a sewing machine operator in the Ephrata area.
In addition to her husband, Pauline is survived by son, Arnold E. Long of Ephrata; daughter, Roberta, wife of Tim Sprecher of East Earl; 3 grandchildren, Vince, Vanessa, and Curtis; 11 siblings, Mae S., wife of the late Harold Reich, Lila S., wife of Carl Zimmerman, Clarence S., husband of the late Blanche Bauman, Ray S., husband of Lydia Bauman, Erla S., wife of the late Mahlon H. Martin, Paul S., husband of Virginia Bauman, Nora S., wife of Donald Busser, Arlene S., wife of Harvey Zimmerman, Joyce S., wife of the late Mahlon F. Good, Harold S., husband of Jeanette Bauman, Titus S., husband of Ruth Bauman.
She was preceded in death by 2 siblings, Kathryn Zimmerman and Mildred S. Martin.
A viewing will be held on Monday, September 28, 2015, from 10 am to 11 am at the Berean Bible Church, 675 Lincoln Gardens Road, Ephrata, followed by her funeral service at 11:00 am, with Pastors Kelly Sensenig and William Sensenig officiating. Interment will take place in the Memory Garden Memorial Cemetery.

CROGHAN - Vera M. Lyndaker, 94, formerly of Main Street, Croghan, passed away Monday morning, December 28, 2015 at Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at First Mennonite Church, New Bremen with Bruce Chartrand, Pastor, officiating. Vera was born on December 10, 1921 at home on the family farm on the Erie Canal Road in the Town of Croghan, NY, the eldest of eight children of the late Benjamin Z. and Emma Martin Lehman. She attended country school in Kirschnerville, and did domestic work prior to her marriage. On June 14, 1944, she married Leslie R. Lyndaker at First Mennonite Church, with Rev. Dr. J. Lawrence Burkholder officiating. After raising her family, she was employed part-time at the Beaver River Central School food service department. Vera and Les founded their maple syrup business in 1955, passing it on to the next generations, who continue its 60 year operation.
Mrs. Lyndaker was a Charter Member of First Mennonite Church, New Bremen, where she was active with the sewing circle and senior fellowship. She was the eldest of the Charter Members of the American Maple Museum, where she served on the Board of Directors.
